• Most modern 4WDs cannot tow their "maximum" rated capacity (e.g., 3.5 tonnes) while the vehicle itself is loaded to its maximum GVM.
• A GCM upgrade ensures you can carry your gear and tow your trailer simultaneously without exceeding legal safety limits. 

• No. A common misconception is that a GVM upgrade covers everything.
• Without a specific GCM upgrade, increasing your GVM actually reduces your available towing capacity when the vehicle is fully loaded. 

• Yes,  post-registration GCM upgrades are recognised if performed by an authorised facility and endorsed by a certified engineer.

• Not every vehicle is eligible for a GCM increase.

Yes, we can increase your legal towing capacity for specific vehicle models. 

While a standard GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) upgrade only increases how much weight the vehicle itself can carry, we can  also increase your BTC (Braked Towing Capacity) and GCM (Gross Combined Mass). Contact us to see if your vehicle is eligible.

 Yes, you often need specific tyres for a GVM/GCM upgrade because the factory-fitted tyres are frequently not rated to handle the increased weight limits. Tyres and wheels must meet specific engineering standards to remain legal and safe under the new, higher load.  Please contact us before buying new tyres and rims to ensure they will be compliant. Note we can organise your tyres and rims for you to make the upgrade process easier for you.
